Russell Eatly

Founder & Lead Trainer · Carpet Repair Academy

Russell built Bedford-based Pristine Carpets as a family-run carpet cleaning and repair business. As demand for repairs grew, patching, burn damage, pet damage and seam repairs became an important part of its work.

He founded Carpet Repair Academy to share those practical skills with other cleaning and trade professionals. The training connects repair techniques with the decisions involved in assessing, quoting and carrying out customer work.

For prospective trainees, that means a direct connection between the skills being taught and the problems encountered in a working repair business.

Why the academy exists

Help customers repair what can be saved.

A damaged section does not always mean a whole carpet needs replacing. Learning to assess the problem and carry out a suitable repair gives cleaners, flooring professionals and property teams another way to help their customers.

The academy brings the practical repair process and the business side together: understanding the damage, choosing a method, explaining the likely result and pricing the work.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Assess before you repair

Consider the carpet, the damage and the available donor material. Learn why suitability and customer expectations matter before work begins.

02 / PRACTISE

Build the practical skill

Follow demonstrations and work through the techniques yourself, with opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance.

03 / APPLY

Take it into your business

Understand the equipment, pricing and customer conversations involved in introducing carpet repairs as a service.

Examples of repair work

The detail makes the difference.

These photographs show examples of localised carpet repairs. They illustrate why careful assessment, alignment, fitting and finishing are central to the training.

Repair results depend on construction, wear, damage and donor material. A realistic assessment is part of providing a professional service.

Our approach to learning

Understand it. Practise it. Keep improving.

The course combines practical tuition with guidance on tools, materials and offering repairs to customers. No previous carpet repair experience is required.
